Jonathon Townsend provides creative and pragmatic litigation counsel in a wide range of business disputes, including those involving antitrust, breach of contract, employment discrimination, misappropriation of trade secrets, fraud, deceptive trade practices, and appellate litigation. He has more than a decade of experience representing clients in complex commercial cases in state and federal courts across the United States. Additionally, Jonathon has notable experience advising financial services clients in regulatory investigations and class actions.

His track record of success includes complete defense verdicts at trial, effective motions to dismiss claims before trial, and successfully representing clients in state and federal appellate courts. Jonathon also has extensive experience developing efficient and effective strategies for discovery, including electronic discovery.

Before joining Wagner Hicks, Jonathon practiced in the Raleigh and Los Angeles offices of large international law firms as well as a North Carolina-based litigation boutique. He earned his J.D. from the UCLA School of Law and his bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
