Benjamin D. Hicks is a sophisticated business attorney with more than 10 years of experience in representing clients in a wide range of corporate and finance transactions. His entrepreneurial mindset and finely attuned understanding of the modern business landscape have equipped him to serve as a trusted partner to start-up and growing companies and their owners. He advises businesses across numerous industries and at every phase of their life cycle, drawing on both his legal acumen and firsthand experience in business ownership and management. Ben combines deal knowledge, proactive communication, and creative business acumen to guide clients through even the most complex of business transactions with ease.

In addition to representing businesses in corporate transactional matters, Ben routinely advises clients in connection with government investigations and regulatory compliance matters, with a particular focus on clients in the financial services and healthcare industries. His proficiencies in working with financial sponsors and larger institutional clients significantly benefit his early-stage clients because he offers a valuable perspective on potential growth plans and maintains a deep understanding of market deal terms.

Before co-founding Wagner Hicks, Ben spent time in the New York office of an international Am Law 100 law firm and the Charlotte office of a regional Am Law 200 firm. During that time, Ben had the opportunity to represent financial sponsors and strategic buyers and sellers in a diverse set of corporate and finance transactions. Ben leverages that experience in advising his clients at Wagner Hicks, ensuring they receive the same degree of focus and dedicated representation that is expected of market-leading practices regardless of their size or sophistication.
