Heather is an attorney with significant experience leading and responding to government inquiries and enforcement matters, federal and state litigation, and corporate investigations. Heather has particular experience representing clients in government investigations brought by multiple federal and state agencies. She also litigates a variety of business and complex commercial cases including breach of contract, banking and financial services, shareholder derivative lawsuits, and class actions.

Heather’s background makes her particularly suited to advise clients on a variety of complex matters. Prior to joining WagnerHicks, PLLC, Heather was a senior counsel in the Division of Enforcement at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, DC. While there
she led significant investigations of violations of federal securities laws involving accounting and disclosure fraud, offering fraud, insider trading, conflicts of interest, FCPA violations, unregistered securities, and broker-dealer violations. Before her time at the SEC, Heather worked at a large regional law firm in Birmingham, Alabama where she advised clients nationwide in the business, banking, and fiduciary services industries on a wide array of litigation and regulatory matters.

Heather received her law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law, where she served on the North Carolina Law Review, graduated with high honors, and was admitted to Order of the Coif.  Before attending UNC for law school, Heather earned her bachelor’s degree,
summa cum laude, from Samford University.
